Sometimes a dream takes a pause

It is in the most unlikely moments that sometimes I find my heart leaping with joy. I recently received a letter from my youngest step-Son. He’s turning into such a fine young man, I have trouble calling him my youngest — but youngest he is.

I want to celebrate a moment where growing and realization has taken place.

It is the child of adventure, the person who has a vision for himself and has made some life decisions to travel a path that perhaps seems scary to me. But as time has allowed things to unfoldfor him, perhaps there is a wisdom within him that is waiting patiently for me to learn — from him.

How powerful it is, indeed, when a person finds that there’s sometimes a natural rhythm that takes place that requires a little patience and a little less force to allow things to unfold. Sure, one has to put forth the energy to go after a thing, but there is a natural pause that takes place, in moments of patience that allow life and one’s dreams to come to fruition.

As a parent, I want the world for my children, or step-children. I want their lives to be full and rich with goodness and wonder. It is a moment of joy when your child takes a moment to reflect and to observe that life has a way of fulfilling our focus in sometimes unexpected ways. The trick is to give yourself the space to allow that to happen. He has done that, and I find myself filled with joy, and beamining light of love to learn that he’s learning this.

While I’m participating in a ‘course’ to learn about my dreams and how to help them evolve into realities, I see that this person who happens to be my step-Son has profoundly lived to realize these very things. That the ‘bull in the china cabinet’ is not always the best approach, but rather to set a thing in motion and then to have a little patience to let things unfold as they will can be just the right thing, sometimes, to help a dream become real.

A profound lesson to observe, to note, and to participate in. Thank you, dear one, for helping to me to learn, for sharing your experience so that I can learn. I’m proud of you!

  • It is inspiring.
Thank you for the support that he is doing exactly what he needs to do for himself —- It is a huge leap of faith, and I’m beginning to see now the goodness and magic in that.

Isn’t it awe inspiring when we learn from those we worry about? I love this! He is doing exactly what he needs to for himself and, as much as you have been concerned about him, his path is a little more squiggly than ours perhaps. It’s wonderful to hear good things about him!
