What if…
…I went to a cafe to send hours to write? It feels vulnerable. What would people think? I’ve been there for hours and I haven’t ordered very much. Look at her just into her writing. She’s lost in the world of words that are spilling from her head onto paper.
…I went to a movie in PJs? First of all, I don’t have any PJs! Second, I need to go buy me a pair of PJs that would be perfect for going out in public. I imagine them being brightly colored flannel - soft and comfy. I imagine other people looking at that woman in her PJs, at the movies. Sitting in the theatre in my PJs, eating popcorn and enjoying a soda.
…I slept in the car overnight? Well, I’ve doe that, when we had a tent that fit over the back of the car. But what I’m talking about — is finding a parking lot and sleeping in the car by myself. Would anyone notice? Would it be safe? How well would I sleep?
…I spent an entire day just walking? I know my back would get tired, but I know I could stop, anytime I felt like it — I would just need to be able to walk ‘back’. I would enjoy the smells, the sights. I would take water with me, and snacks. I did this when I went to Australia. I had the whole day to walk wherever I wanted — I did. It was splendid.
What are your what ifs? And, have you ever really executed one of your what ifs? I’d like to hear about it, if you’d like to share.
