I’m participating in a neat little online course called SARK’s Awesome Anytime Adventure. Obviously, it’s a course offered by SARK (you can find out more at planetsark.com).  Anyway - I was doing some exploring with freedom, ‘that vacation feeling’, and succulence. I had an interesting realization I wanted to share.

My husband has been without corporate employment for almost a year now. I’m really proud of him and they way he has been driven to follow his dreams, during this time, and how he has used his energy to become his own corporate business owner in developing some eCommerce venues. Anyway - I was working through one of the exercises in SARK’s Anytime Adventure series, and I came to realize something that I’d like to celebrate - out loud.

Since his change in career direction, I’ve noticed that he does a thing for me that is an amazing gift. On weekends, he never puts any pressure or obligation on me to do anything. He gives me the gift of freedom to live my weekend time however I want to, whether it’s washing clothes, cleaning house, writing, playing games, reading, napping - whatever it is. Whatever I’m doing, I’ve  noticed feeling supported to spend my weekend time however I choose to. If some household chore goes undone, there is no criticism or sarcasm. It’s really okay for me to do whatever I want, in whatever order, or in whatever manner I choose. What a gift!

Thank you, husband, for this amazing gift. Thank you, SARK, for the exercise which drew out this awareness. It’s a thing worth celebrating in a relationship, and so I’m celebrating by writing about it.
